04/12/2011 Just to let you know that the 10th December gig at the Cherries has been moved to the Victoria in Hindley. Thanks to the Victoria for having us at short notice.

24/09/2011 Ooer, immortalised on Youtube! Nice one!
09/07/2011 Just a swift word up that we’ve got a last minute gig for this Saturday coming up. Then it’s summer holidays... next gig 8 weeks after this one!
07/07/2011 Just a swift note to say that we’re in for remixing on the 3rd August, so expect downloadable versions of the new tracks soon after that.
18/05/2011 Recordings done! Only on the streamer at the minute, til we fine tune the mixing, but very soon available for download. If you want a CD, email us an address, and we’ll happily post one! Space Dogs is possibly the heaviest song we’ve ever recorded – Standing in the Rain the lightest, so you’ve got everything with these songs.
01/05/2011

Just a swift announcement that we’re heading into the studio again in a couple of weeks – so expect 3 shiny, new songs for your listening pleasure! We can’t wait for these – proper looking forward to the weekend already. We’ve a couple of new gigs and some gig changes too, so make sure you check the gig page.

We’d just like to thank everyone again for their support too. The people who come watching us and the venues that put us on – so many people help us with their time, energy and enthusiasm and we’d like to say how grateful we are for this. So thank you, you wonderful people. Please note, however, this doesn’t mean the drinks are on us!
01/01/2011 Happy New Year! We have recorded 4 of our tracks with Dave, so we’re very happy for you to hear them now. Should be streaming at you nice and clearly!
08/11/2010 More of those photos – massive thanks to Martin Cogley again for the excellent job! Also, more gigs added!
24/09/2010 Ooer, who are these handsome devils? High res version here. Many thanks To Natalie at the Evening Post for a top class article. Also, we've been gig shopping... please check out the gig pages!
11/08/2010

Good news! We have our new singer and he’s a belter! Welcome to the band, Dave O’Toole. Ex-Esher - another fine Wigan band we’ve had the pleasure of playing with before - he’s got one hell of a voice. Pictures of him as soon as we take them!

We’ll be plotting more gigs for Christmas and the New Year, when we’ll be ready to hit the stages again. Also, we won’t be playing, but there’s a benefit day for Harvey, Paul’s son, at the Cherry Gardens on the 5th September. There’ll be some quality bands on and we’ll be there to support the day, so if you can spare an hour and a couple of quid for the charity bucket, get down there.

Finally, we’ve updated the gallery – my bad for leaving it so long! There’s some of our Haigh Hall pictures on there now.

06/07/2010

That’s Haighfest done! And it was bloody marvelous. We’ve got some pictures incoming and there’s even videos at some point. More of that as it comes in.

Phil’s short lived tenure is now over. We thank him most heartily – we couldn’t have done this gig without him and we really do appreciate the effort he put into learning the songs in such a short time. Good luck with your future career, Phil. That means we’re now in the market for a singer! We do have some names already and will be sending out some emails for a few trials. If you think you’ve got Frontman written all over you, send us an email!

28/06/2010

It’s big announcement time. Paul, our beloved singer, has had to quit the band. Three weeks ago, his son, Harvey, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. That’s going to be a full time job to look after him. Our very best wishes go out to him and his family, especially Harvey, and we hope with all our beings that he makes as speedy a recovery as possible. He’s in Christies, so he’s in good hands, and we’ve heard it’s one of the more treatable strains, so we’ve every faith in his recovery. It will be a very heavy duty three years of treatment even so. Good luck and take care, Paul. We’ll miss you in the band, matey.

Joining us in his place is Phil Gwilliam. Phil has a hell of a voice and hats off to him for the effort he’s put into learning our set in such a short time! We had been worried about our Haigh spot, but we’re now confident we can put on the show we want to. We’re a week off and very excited!

02/06/2010 Just letting you all know, we’ve had to cancel the Cherry gardens gig, on the 19th. This is due to events beyond our control, and we want to apologise to Phil (the landlord), after he already rescheduled it for us.
18/05/2010 Booer! Who’s this mysterious masked chap? Is the world ready for Nigel Roughlove?
17/05/2010 WOOHOO! And that’s a big woohoo! We’re on at Haigh Hall! The single largest event in the entire Wigan musical calendar and we’ve got a spot! There’ll be more updates as we get links and newspaper scans, so brace yourself! We’re happy bunnies.
03/04/2010 Just to let you know the gig at the Cherry Gardens has been put back a month – it’s now in June!
14/03/2010 Recording now done, as ever by the mighty John Kettle. Three songs for your listening pleasure – Sun won’t shine, Live your life and Fix the night all available to download and there’s every chance one of them is streaming at you while you read this. Hurrah!
31/01/2010 Happy New Year! You’ve probably noticed we’ve been quiet.... that’s because our beloved singer Paul is now a father again! Congratulations, matey! However, we’re using the time out to write some new songs. We’ve got a busy spring planned too – we’re recording in March and will be gigging again in April, so we’ll keep you updated for that. We should also have some new pictures by the end of this month too. Finally added Feel your skin to the player and downloads page too!
12/11/2009 Just to let you know probably too late, tonight’s gig at the Tavern is cancelled! Too many other cancellations, unfortunately. So apologies if you get this message too late. We’ve booked in for more studio time... quite a way off in March, but the time will fly!
02/08/2009 Just a swift update – plenty of gigs coming up in the calendar, so check them out and get down there if you can! Also, our second recording day went well, but we still need some work on our second song. So, “Devil in me” is now very downloadable! We will be sending out fresh CDs also when we get “Feel your Skin” trimmed, but for now you can hear its demo on our MySpace page.
29/06/2009 Ooh, well then! We’ve just had our first day in the studio and it was worth the wait. Unfortunately, we’re only on a preliminary mix of one new song, so we’ll make you wait for 3 weeks til we make the lot downloadable/CDed up – sounding very nice though! We’re again in the middle of a bit of a gig splurge, so keep your eyes peeled for if we’re near you.
05/04/2009 Just to let you know we’re all still alive! We’re having a binge of gig booking, so keep your eye on the Gigs page. We’ve also finally confirmed (we think!) some more studio time…. It’ll be July, unfortunately, but we’re now playing live the songs we’ll be recording and they’re going down well, so they should be worth the wait!
09/01/2009 Happy New Year! Announcing our fullest weekend in a while – the end of this month, we’ll be playing double barrel shows in Wigan -  our normal set on the Friday, followed by an extended set on the Saturday! Bargain.
26/11/2008 Just to let you know – Saturday’s gig at the Waiting Room is cancelled. Don’t show up! We won’t be there and neither will the other bands!
15/10/2008 Bad news and good news…. The bad news is that Jason, our drummer of 3 years and ourselves have parted ways. Not good – we’ll miss you in the band, matey, but the good news is we now have a replacement in the mighty shape of John. We’ll be taking some pictures of his lovely visage to grace your screen asap, believe you me! We can now confirm our 2 upcoming gigs too as well.
10/09/2008 As promised last month, we have new songs! You can as ever hear them streamed via the majiggy to the left, or head to Downloads and get them in mp3. If you do want the proper CD wav files (I would – I’m a purist), then email us with an address, and we’ll get a CD to you. Sound like me is an old song we’ve rerecorded essentially since we still like it! So far gone is a brand new spanker. We’re very proud of them – thanks again to John Kettle who’s done a great bit of work as per usual.
18/07/2008 We’re in the paper! The Wigan Evening Post, no less! Many thanks to it’s extreme mightiness for featuring us. Especially the music reporter Adnan who did such a good job on the article and on us!
13/07/2008 By the crin! We’ve been invited to support the mighty Troubadours again, on their last gig before they tour Japan?? Fresh from supporting Paul Weller too! And here’s us, happy to tour Southport! Just want to say a massive, massive thank you to them for the offer, and if you can, get down to Wigan on the 2nd August to support them (and us too!). They might just be interstellar next time you see them.
23/06/2008 Big news today – we’ve just been confirmed for the line up for this year’s WOW festival! There’s last year’s. Thanks to Chris Wyatt and his mob at Wigan’s leisure and Cuture Trust. It’s a chance to play to thousands of people, so we’d better practise! Also, some new gigs, including a rebooking at the Cavern, so very nice there! Finally, we’ve also booked in for another weekend with the Legendary John Kettle for some more recording, so expect some new songs at the start of September.
23/02/2008 Just a couple of new gigs to add today. We should have a lot more shows coming up soon too, so keep an eye open.
15/01/2008 Happy New Year! We’ve got the piccies from the Cavern gig, and we’re looking good. Well, our mums say so anyway. Also, we have a review from our last Tavern gig! Very exciting! Thanks very much to the Wigan Linc online magazine for featuring us – we owe you, mates!
18/11/2007

Well this'll be a big news! First up, as promised, we have the 3 new songs from Kettle! Bargain! There's 2 new songs - Leave me alone and Faithless - and (down to public request) a new recording of Sweet Mary Jane! They sound poo hot, so if they're not playing already, choose them from the streamer to the left, or head straight to downloads to get hold of them. We're proper excited!
Also there's 2 more gigs announced. Extra special reasons to visit each one... and anyone who wants one can have a free CD when they're there as well. Can't be bad!

27/09/2007 Just announcing another gig, this time at the Bucks Head in Abram. Good pub, we hear - apparently they do nice food too! We'll be on with our mates Silo and Without Reason. We've also booked in at John Kettle's studio again for the 10-11th November, so expect 3 new songs that week. Bargain!
15/07/2007 We've had a couple of really good gigs, so just posting a swift thanks to everybody who keeps coming watching us - it's not like we buy the beers or anything! There's 2 more gigs upcoming, and there should be 2 more in the offing very shortly. Hopefully, they'll be as good as the last few! A swift reminder, if you haven't already, to sign up for the Newsletter - we've had some technical buggery going on, but they should be arriving again shortly!
08/06/2007 We've just recorded another track at John Kettle's Jaraf House studio. Again, we're really happy with his sound - top work, matey! We're well chuffed! Head to the Downloads, or click the streamer for some tasty Muesli!
09/05/2007 Well, the results of the Kettle weekend, and they're boiling hot (sorry, John!). You can click on the streamer to the left to hear now, or you can be a devil and head to the Downloads page. Enjoy! We personally think these are best recordings any of us have been involved with, so there's a fair amount of excitement here, let me tell you!
01/05/2007 Well, paternity leave is well and truly over. First up, there's three new recordings up to listen to (and download!). These have been done by a good mate of ours - hats off to John M. Thanks, pal! Then there's three more songs coming next week that we're currently recording with the legendary John Kettle - looking forward to seeing how they pan out! Finally, there's three new gigs, so make sure to nip in if you're in the area.
27/02/2007 Bit quiet on the band front at the mo... due to our mighty singer becoming a father! Congratulations, Paul! Twins too - that's your work cut out for you! Gigs and new recordings should begin again in earnest in April/May, so keep an eye out then. There's lots of new stuff being written in the hiatus, so that's good!
06/01/2007

Happy New Year, folks! Just a few additions today - the main one being some downloadable videos! Oooh! These are from the Collective gig on the 11th November. The lighting is very low - it's dark as bejeesus, to be honest - but the sound is pretty decent. Thanks to Paul's dad for the videoing!

There's also some fresh links - we've been spreading the word a little. Expect some new recordings very soon in the new year too.

Finally, we'd like to give a big thank you to all those who've signed up for the Newsletter, posted in the Guest Book or come watching us live. It means a hell of a lot to us... big hands to you all!

05/11/2006

Big update! First up, there's two new pages off and running...

The Links page will give you some links to some more sites with us on it, including our Myspace account and our Channel 4 page. There's a few links to some mates of ours as well - make sure you give them a gawp.

The Gallery page... control yourselves, ladies, it's us in the flesh! Arguably, it might not take much control, but we live in hope! It's mostly pictures from the Leigh Arms, but we'll expand the page as the pictures come in.

Finally, our good mate The Gibber has been taking pictures live from the scenes of our gigs. Not sure how the orange horse got there though!

15/10/2006

We've fed the recordings through a compressor, so make sure you redownload them if you haven't already - they've got a lot more kick to them now. Also two more gigs added to the gigs page.

20/09/2006

Now announcing our second gig! Quick - to the gigs page!

25/08/2006

Well, we're finally ready for the world of gigging! So batten down your hatches and try to contain yourselves as you head over to the gigs page! Also, we're back in the studio recording with a new producer, so brace yourself for some new material coming soon.

29/07/2006 Online at last! www.tirednesskills.com goes onto the Tinternet in a blaze of publicity and hype. A wondering public celebrates!
